recommendations: electrical junctions
I am completing a battery relocation and I have two wires I want to join. They had no plug on-ends or anything so I want to join a wire to a wire with a nice plug on.

How would you guys recommend joining 8 gauge wire (atleast I think its 8)?

I have never soldered anything wires that big... will that work

is there an automotive compatible version of this:

Solder will work, but they also make crimp butt-end connectors that size. They also make screw-on butt-end connectors that size. I would probably try for the crimp style.

used the crimp style, and the thing still pulled out... watched a utube vid and its the same procedure i was using... will try again with the crimp one... sigh

You can always solder after you've crimped to secure it more if you have to. Use a small torch instead of a soldering iron though.

wires to short to get to the battery... hence the need for the connector... thats nice though
