restrictor pill in hose from vc to throttle body(pcv valve line)
hi all i am fixing a egr solenoid and notyiced a few of the hoses on the intake manifold are damaged. in pulling the line from the valve cover pcv valve to the mani i noticed there is a restrictor pill in the line? is this normal? i know my 99 didnt have it and can i safely skip putting it in the new hose?

I remember someone else mentioning this a number of years ago, so I think it's normal. But I'm not sure what the function of the restriction is or whether it's OK to remove it. My guess is that you would be OK to use a hose with no restriction. I'd give it a try and see if you experience any problems.

There are two restrictors. One is shown in the diagrams. The other I need to add to the diagrams. It is in the "PCV hose".
