Crank pulley...correct me please.
Now I have a DE UR crank pulley. Now if what I have seen and read. Correct me if I'm wrong. You can not use a DE crank pulley on a VE. But you CAN use the VE crank pulley on the DE with the Gspec spacer correct?

At least this is what Greg's site says:

Aluminum crank pulley. Copied from VVL. Direct fit onto VE engines, will fit DE by adding oil pump drive/spacer. OEM pulley weighs 4 lbs 2 oz, this pulley weighs 1 lb, 2 oz.

Just need to be sure before I sell my DE UR crank pulley. Because I would like to use it on the VE and not sell it.

Correct, the spacer is to position the pulley in alignment with the belts not necessarily for clearing anything when using a ve pulley on a de/det.

The spacer was originally designed if you switched to a ve pump on a de/det block w/ de/det oil pump drive/spacer because it wouldnt protrude through the pump enough and the pulley would rest up against the oil pump gear itself. So you needed the spacer or a ve oil pump drive/spacer.

You cant use the de pulley on a ve because it wont clear the oil pump itself.

Ok. So then pretty much I need a VE crank pulley but can keep the de water pump pulley correct? Or are those different?

Ehh I would rather just buy the pulley from Greg than go though all that.

I wouldn't do it, VE's are 4cw and thus more sensitive to vibrations. I just removed mine and didn't really notice a powerloss difference, thus would rather just keep it off for the safety's sake, especially if you rev above 7300 rpm!

If you still want to go with it, I could probably sell you my Gspec Crank pulley.
