Dowel for engine to transmission mating
So Wondering if there's a way to improvise this dowel..

110 Cylinder Block & Oil Pan :: Engine Mechanical :: Genuine Nissan Parts :: Sentra / 200SX Parts (B14U) 1995-1999 :: Nissan Parts, NISMO and Nissan Accessories - Courtesyparts.com

part number 11010C

After a clutch replacement I noticed that I was missing one, and it's not sticking out of the transmission. I really don't have time to wait a week to get a 1 dollar piece of metal.

I don't know if anyone has run into this problem before, must have fallen out and got swept away in the garage floor somewhere. SO, if anyone has a way of improvising it, or has one on hand to sell and quickly ship that would be great!

Thanks guys

Yeah definitely need both dowels. People that mistakenly didnt run them have a habit of blowing up clutch disks due to the slight misalignment. Ive got a couple spares but im not home to get them to you. You might look for someone local.

How would the clutch feel running with only 1 or none? How long would it take for the clutch to explode?

it will still fail with one dowel. Ive seen them go as soon as 2 weeks, but a misalignment could happen at any time.

Depends on how hard you are on the car. Pushing it will make the tranny shift that much quicker and kill the clutch.

I remember it was a bit of a pain lining them up when I did my VE swap. It's one at the top of the block housing and one near the bottom front correct?

EDIT: I just looked through the photos of my build and spotted them. You have to have the dowel pins to kept that flexplate in place as well I believe.

Murphy's Law.... I don't like Murphy hanging out in my garage. My luck would have a misalignment issue with one dowel and trash a clutch so no matter what both dowels go in no matter how much of a bitch they are to align. Gettin' too old to be tearing sh*t up these days....

Find a bolt with a non-threaded shank the exact same diameter and go to town with a grinding/cutting wheel and you should be fine. Make it rounded or slightly pointy on each end so it lines up easier. I think they are 8mm but I'm not 100% sure. Preferably grade 8 bolt?
