headlights
Just bought some HIDs for my 97 200sx. only thing that sucks is the stock lenses are the kind with the distorted kind of look to them, not the extremely clear lenses that newer cars have on them. anyone able to find some anywhere?

Im guessing you saying the lenses are "oxidized" Aside from getting new lenses did you try the 3M restore kit ? Give it a shot I hear a lot of people have good luck with it .

If they are oxidized.... then this....

I've used this on 3 different auto's and still looks amazing. You can pick it up at Advanced for around $20.

Headlight Restoration Kits | Headlight Restoration | Headlight Cleaner

If your looking for newer looking lights... Then Liu is your guy.

i dont think the oxidizing is the problem, ive already cleaned them. what i mean is the way the lens is made. some of them have plastic that is made weird and isnt clear. look at the 9th pic down on lius post to see what i mean.

newer vehicles, if you wanted to see the headlight through the lens, you could see it clearly

He's talking about the 95-97 headlights which have light diffusers in them, as opposed to the 98-99 that are clear.

I tried what you did, putting a HID kit in the stock lenses. It does not work well at all. The stock lense are very poor for a halogen bulb, let alone an HID kit. Stock lense is a fluted lens and pretty much ONLY work with 9004 Halogen lights to get a proper beam down road.

Get new lenses or retrofit the old ones. Or talk to LIUSPEED on here. Local headlight, hid guru on the forum
