air bag system removal
so i dont have an airbag, since i swaped out my steering wheel...while im installing my safc thers a huge box in the console( under armrest and under radio) that have a bright yellow cable that runs thruogh the whole car, to a sensor or somthin at the hood latch.....

Q:
can i just take it all out completly ?

Q:
will the car run or start without it there? its really useless to me unless the airbag system affects OHTER parts of the car......

I removed mine. You need a special torx bit to get it off. It wont hurt nothing but unhook the battery before you do anything.

It's safe to remove. It's almost anything that's wrapped in yellow electrical tape. I can't remember but the air bag light may come on. if that's the case, just pull the bulb.

On my NX, I pulled the entire airbag system out. The airbag system has it's own harness that is separate from the rest of the car which makes it easy to do. I know my car doesn't have the airbag light on but I can't remember if I had pulled the bulb or not. I didn't think I did. The socket that you use is called a security torx.

If you dont have the torx bit, just use a pair of vice grips, clamp on the heads of the bolts and turn.
