GA16 auto to SR auto
i've been getting ready to do a GA auto to SR swap and decided it would be easier on my wallet to just put an auto tranny on an SR till i acuire all the parts needed to do the 5 speed swap.
my question is what are the differences between an SR auto tranny and a GA? will all the mounts and brackets be the same or some.....i just don't know.
Just so i'm clear the auto is only temporary....till i have all my manual parts ready, and i'm broke so it'll take me time

Why don't you just wait until you do everything all together? You are giving yourself more headaches than you need. If I was you I would wait. Trust me it will pay off at the end.

what year is your car? auto trannys depending on your year require a seperate computer for the tranny. Your car will go slow as balls because it will be stuck in one gear without the computer.... ask how i know!!!

You are going to have to buy a tranny, flexplate, tq converter, axles etc anyway so you might as well spend the money on the 5speed tranny, flywheel, clutch, and axles. You will spend at most $100 on everything else, shift linkage with shifter, couple of motor mounts.......it's pretty much the same price.

^I was going to try this swap about 3 years ago, but it didn't last to long. 5 speed ALL the way or find a 93 or 94 AUTO SE-R. That is the right way. The computer side of things would kill you. Then if the tranny don't last, back on the scavenger hunt. I actually have a SR20 auto tranny.

The passenger side axle from 5 speed to auto SR20 should work. The driver side is the one you need to be auto. Maybe you could use one from a AUTO G20.

Can't use one from a g20, the g20 hub side of the axles are bigger and wont fit in a b13/b14 hub.
