Odyssey Battery mount pictures request....
Mike (my mechanic) and I have been looking at the battery location and my new Odyssey PC680-T with bracket.

We could just remove the OEM metal battery tray. Clean it, spray paint it black, and reinstall it. Simply place the Odyssey battery centerered on the tray, mounted on it's side, terminals towards the vehicle front. Put the Odyssey bracket over the top, drill six (6) holes through the OEM metal battery tray. Bolt down the Odyssey bracket, and it would be done. Simple, effective, leaves more "open space" under the hood, especially right by the air intake.

FORZWIN sent me this link on his build and custom bracket. Thank you sir.

However, that looks to me like it will not work for the Odyssey bracket. The Odyssey bracket has to clamp the battery from the side, not the top like FORZWIN's custom bracket.

The Odyssey bracket and OEM location for reference:
A tiny little Odyssey battery with mounting bracket. And meet Mike, my mechanic. He rocks.

Drivers side view of the engine bay. Odyssey PC680-T battery not yet in place. I need to find pics of a clean mounting set-up for Mike to eyeball. If you have any, feel free to post them.

I searched under "battery" and "Odyssey" in Thread Titles, all open forums. Looked at every thread. Then I searched under "Odyssey" in all threads, anywhere. Got a hit under an Optima thread, but not any pics of installs. Just discussing the benefits of an Odyssey over an Optima.

Has anyone done anything creative, pimp-styling, or cleaner looking on the Odyssey install and have pics? Otherwise Mike and I are just going to do it like I outlined above.

Gracias!

quick question, why not relocate it to the trunk passenger side to help out with weight distribution? i mean, you do have the car basically in pieces already, by not add this to it

There's 2 bolt holes you can use on the frame, one on either side of the battery bracket.

You can see how its mounted in this picture.

Works great, and just 2 bolts is enough to hold it down.

Wow, nice to see you getting your car back on the road, Shawn! Very cool.

On a previous Se-r I had, I modified the stock battery tray to fit a Hawker battery. The battery fit sideways in the tray, so I cut the tray in half while still keeping the studs for the fusebox that mounts to it. Then slid it closer to the driver fender and drilled new holes in the tray to fit in the existing holes. Worked excellent. Sorry, no pics, though.

Watching this with interest. My Odyssey battery arrived a few weeks ago and I still haven't decided on placement. I'd prefer stock locale, on it's side similar to Shawns option 1 described in his 1st post. My issue is I have a B14 that does not have a flat bottom battery tray like the B13. I don't think I should bolt the battery right to the metal either. Thoughts? I'm sure there are a lot of plastic tray options. Any types of plastic to avoid using for a battery in an engine bay?

I put mine in place of the windshield washer resevoir, if you plan on keeping that you could put it on the other side and just not do a CAI. Otherwise put it in the trunk.

And because it is a sealed battery it can eb mounted against metal without issue.
