Camry issues - need some help.
So, my fiance's '03 Camry won't start. It cranks, but won't kick over. I didn't hear the fuel pump priming with the key in the "ON" position, so I figured it wouldn't hurt to change out the pump and see what happens. I replaced the pump but now realize that the pump doesn't start priming until the car is cranked over. I can clearly hear the pump working now. Probably should've checked for fuel pressure first, but oh well :nonchalance:

I also noticed that the C/OPN relay (essentially Toyota's fuel pump relay) wasn't working, after switching it out with the horn relay. Replaced that, still nothing. Tomorrow I'm going to buy a scan tool and see if any of the sensors are throwing codes and I'll also check to see if the spark plugs are firing. I feel like I'm on a wild goose chase with this thing but I need to get it back on the road so I can get her out of the house!

Is there anything else I might be missing?

lol, always start with the basics, Spark and Fuel. Spark always being the first.

Not really aware of any common issues with those year Camry's. I believe they switched to the 2.4 those years. If your not getting spark its quite possibly a crank/cam sensor issue, i remember seeing a couple come in with that issue.

Just start with the basics and work your way through. Scanning for codes may help, especially if the check engine light is on

Ran the code reader on it this morning and no codes came up. I'm gonna check for spark tomorrow, it was just too cold to fool with anything today. Yeah its the 2.4 L.

Turned out to be the fuel pump after all. I had to replace the aftermarket one I had with a Denso (which was the OEM I pulled out). For some reason the other one wasn't building enough pressure. Well, that's solved. Thanks for you guys help!
