Vibration at 55mph and above!!! HELP
I currently drive 2000 nissan altima. I've had this vibration for about a year now.

In the last year I have changed axles, tie rods, brakes, tires (twice) and an alignment. I have had the tires balanced by 4 shops. I've done all the work myself except tires and alignment. Each shop says the balance is off by a hair. However, nobody can properly diagnose this issue. What else can it be?

how about the rims, or the hubs, and when you balanced your tires did the machine that do the balance do road force balance ?

my steering wheel shakes a bit at 60-65, but all speeds under are fine, an its also fine up over 100. I find my self wanting to do 70 in 60 zones just to avoid the shake.

i assume i need an alignment or one of my wheels is out of whack.

as i mentioned in another thread recently, you might check your motor mounts.

None of the shops in this area has a balance machine that puts load on the tires. I was thinking about the rims too which are steelies. But all of the shops say the wheels are fine. What in the hub can cause this at highway speeds only?

Those axles you got, were they OEM? Did they have all the balance weights they are supposed to?

The axles were not OEM - Autozone Specials, lol. Where would I find the balance weights? The vibration existed before the axle change and hasn't increased.

Does rotating ur wheels change the vibration. Could be wheel bearings, internal tranny parts, warped flywheel, bad suspension parts

Were the old axles Autozone specials as well? Did they lack balance weights too?

Unsure of what the old axles were. I bought the car in 2006 with those axles already installed. However when we first bought the car it did not vibrate at highway speeds. This only started happening about a year ago.
