P10 Car still jerks after motor mount replacement
1996 P10

Replaced my mounts and the car is still jerking like crazy.

the rear motor mount was DESTROYED, the passenger mount was fine but had ripped the nut off of itself so to speak - replaced the nut of course

Was hoping I would get back in the car and it would be smooooth

Little improvement if any

Seems like it maybe coming from the tranny and there seems be a long skinny bolt missing... I'll try to post pics later

Shifter bushing is gone - it visibly moves and shakes while driving. - but i'm thinking if I replace it now it will be destroyed again with the way the car is shifting

The whole car jerks hard whenever I shift into any gear

Also the clutch pedal has been sort of sticking to the floor and has a fat delay between lifting my foot off it and it actually coming up.

Not sure if it is related

Sound familiar? Any suggestions?

No sunroof, no roller rockers.

Sub frame bushings.. yeah. forgot about those... I do need to replace them. didnt think that little bit of slack would cause such turmoil...

Thanks.

sounds like you might be also having a clutch issue. the cable is supposed to release with no resistance. if you push down and it doesnt come up, it may need to either be adjusted or you may also be having pressure plate problems. also what bolt is missing?

Clutch is garbage, I think it was installed wrong by the previous owner. it's a centerforce clutch, car will NOT go into 1st while in motion. Grabs at the very very end of letting off the clutch. The cable was new and adjusted when i ought the car last year. lol

Usually if youre going anything over 5mph trying to go to first is usually not possible without revving up high. I have act and its similar to that with the cable misadjusted. Have you tried readjusting the cable? Does it also slip at all? I have noticed that aftermarket clutches usually don't have or need a long pedal travel and take getting used to with adjusting to be comfortable. If its grabbing at the end of letting off and your pushing the pedal all the way to the firewall and its coming up slowly from there, you might be over throwing the throw out bearing and plate. I would start by loosening the cable a few turns and see if that helps any.

Sorry for the long reply but hopefully it helps.

Got a floor jack.... have jack stands... have some random tools... just need to order bushings and I can get things rolling.

Not sure what to do about the throw out bearing it is getting worse and worse

about my shift bushing - the shifter is pretty much resting on the exaust heat sheild at this point...

Someone had mentioned short shifters coming with the bushings http://www.amazon.com/91-02-Infiniti-Racing-Short-Shifter/dp/B0058VBA64/ref=sr_1_3?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1357597187&sr=1-3&keywords=G20+short+shifter

Anyone know what i'd be looking for?
