blew motor up tonight
went to the track tonight with my 94 g20t. runnin decent went for a full pass had a great light good 60 good 330 and 1/8th. got to the thousand foot and looking at the slip it was pullin hard then it fell on its face had no pull at all. rpms were low as heck compared to what they were usually at. shut it off got to end of track turned it back on and it started clinkin. sounds like somewhere on the bottom of cylinder one. im hopin i spun a bearing and didnt bend a rod. ill find out sunday when i take it apart hope nothin is damaged to bad.

y is it sr20 is so sucky with bearings!!

3rd gear on P10 trans is an SR20 bearing eater! Mine did the same at the top of 3rd gear right at 7k.

Stock motor with cold air intake. 91 intake cam. LSD tranny. Stage 3 six puck clutch. Banged cat. With cherry bomb muffler. Timing advanced.

Wow really ? I usually go threw the 1/4 mile in 3rd gear right at 7k rpms. I new something was wrong when I looked down and I was only at 5500 rpms. And it dropped 6 mph. But it had to of let loose right at the 1000 ft cuz looking at the slip it was a good solid run till the 1000 ft

With stock cams, revving that high is kinda pointless. I should have been shifting before 7k RPM, but I simply forgot and that is when my rod bearing gave way and began to rod knock as well.

Well with my car shifting into 4th would be pointless

With all the P10 transmissions, they are useless after 2nd gear.
