New g20 Owner
I pick up my 2001 g20 luxury today. White with tan, 115k, automatic, leather, sunroof. Car looks literally brand new inside and out but I have no history on the car.

What are some of the things I should check/get replaced/ do now/ to make sure it's in 100% top mechanical condition given it's age and mileage?

Reliability is my absolute #1 priority with this car.

I'd probably just do the basic tune up plugs wires filter and oil change. the sr20's are really good motors. my mechanic has a 200 sx about 300,000 miles and it still runs like a champ. Would definitely make sure all your hoses are in good condition, that's the issue i'm running into now my are all blowing out at once

Thanks, I hope to pick it up in a few minutes.

I've done some reading. Looks like any 5/30 synth oil with a PureOne filter works for the oil along with OEM wires. I'm confused on the plugs, caps etc though.

Sparkplug INFOS based on INFINITI MANUAL

P11 - 2001

PFR5G-11 (0.043in \ 1.1mm gap size) ,BKR5E (0.031in to 0.035in \ 0.8mm to 0.9mm gap size) ,Standard ( FACTORY )
PFR6G-11 (0.043in \ 1.1mm gap size) ,BKR6E (0.031in to 0.035in \ 0.8mm to 0.9mm gap size) ,COLD
PFR7G-11 (0.043in \ 1.1mm gap size) ,BKR7E (0.031in to 0.035in \ 0.8mm to 0.9mm gap size) ,COLD

Standard sparkplug replacment for Platinums: 105,000 miles

All of these plugs are NGK this is what Nissan used as their OEM sparkplugs.

not to sure bout the cap so much but for a stock motor you can use some basic NGK plugs and NGK wires oil to be honest it depends on the miles of the motor right now i have a det motor that was rebuilt zero miles i use full syn 10w30 because its thicker than 5w30 wont break down so fast. the more miles the car has the higher the oil you want to go so it has 100,000+ for example what ever brand you decide to use i would try to get 10w40 probably would also go for the high mile syn oil too

Well, you should know, you live in south Florida as well so I'll get 10/40 what brand do you use?

The only tuning I plan on doing is tuning it for best gas mileage. My mod days are over.

Sometime I may tell how I came about selecting the g20 and why. I'm a die hard/BMW/Benz guy and this is my first Japanese car ever. Out of every Japanese car ever made, it came down to two or three and just certain years. The G20 and the Altima L30 where two of the three at the top of my list because they had style, great on gas and a history of reliability even over Honda and Toyota. You know all this, I just found it out but I had to really dig deep and learn everything Japanese.

Sweet ride man, but I'm not modding this next car. My last car was an e39 BMW that I dropped and had a m5 body kit on it with 18". Been there done that, so my g20 will be a nice stock cruiser.

I have a ton of near competition SQ audio gear, but even considering leaving in the Bose and just doing that little tweeter upgrade and adding a sub. After everything I did on my last car, I'm pretty burnt out on slammed.

I here ya' E34-e39 here. I'm a 5 series guy. It takes both hands to count the number of fan clutches and radiators I've replaced. Crack a block twice. I"m so done with owning them but LOVE to drive them.
