Weird problem after DW200 fuel pump install
OK guys, i was running a stock GTIR fuel pump on my turbo setup, just upgraded to a deatschwerks DW200 fuel pump, but the damn car just refuses to work properly, it´s pig rich and sounds like it´s on 3 cylinders.

The pump is correctly instaled, the polarity is good, the return and feed line are not swaped, i did a hardwire from the battery and it´s exactly the same, the WBo2 reads soo rich it´s out of the scale.

The only think left for me to do is check fuel pressure and swap back to the GTIR pump. Any ideas why the new fuel pump causes this?

It seems the fuel pump is so powerfull that the fuel return line is not enough to divert enough fuel!? causing bug pressure on the rail? could it be?

You need an adjustable fuel pressure regulator and guage to see fuel pressure.

yep your base fuel pressure went up with the high volume pump. You should also being running a voltage stabilizer relay with a after market pump.

Thx guys, really apreciate the help, this thing is messing with me...

Never tought a upgrade pump could cause so much trouble, normaly people mount it and forget about it... i have done this before...

I do have a independent gauge and a 1:1FPR, but didn´t have the time to put it in yet. tomorrow.

So being so i should decrease fuel pressure to stock values? And if it´s stock value? Decrease even more? Did anyone face anything similar?

you are running at least 4-6psi higher than the base pressure. you will need to set it back to 3 bar fuel pressure. I upgraded the fuel system in stages on my first turbo build. I picked up 4 psi with a walboro pump and another 2 psi with a z32 fuel filter. when I put the aem 320lph in my ve-t I picked up 3 psi more base fuel pressure.

This is getting ridiculous really... i checked everything twice again... i´m pissed

Did the FPR, even at minimum it´s pig rich.
Swaped back to gtir fuel pump and FPR again still refuses to work properly
GTIR fuel pump + FPR the same
Pull the plugs and were wet and black, cleaned them also the pistons with compressed air
The injectors dont leak, as i harwired the pump direct from battery to check

And best of all, when i tried to drain the fuel circuit removing the fuse and starting it(with no fuel pump) the car seems to idle better, almost perfect... as soon as i put the fuel pump fuse it stumbles like it´s on 3cyl and black smoke.

rewire the fuel pump with a relay. use the power from the pump plug to turn on the relay and run new power from battery. google Dsm fuel pump rewire if you need help figuring out how to do the relay.
