Low power VET build?
Looking to mix it up a bit for my S13, I want to have the most usable powerband that I can manage. Currently I'm thinking of doing a S13 SR20DET bottom end with a P11 VE head with stock 2.0 cams along with some aftermarket springs and retainers,I'm thinking of making a hybrid S14 SR20DET intake manifold to take advantage of the long runners for a nice low end and having it ported to give it some room to breathe up top. The turbo setup would be a twin scroll 3071R setup. Really only looking for 350whp/340wtq but I would like that power from 3,250/3,500RPM to 8,500RPM. I know most will say stick with the stock S13 SR head and get some cams but I rather not deal with the rocker issues and I do have to choose between low end and high end when choosing an intake and cam setup. Any other suggestions would be awesome.

You would be better off with a open housing. to make power up to 8500rpm you will need different cams. the stock sr20ve cams fall off well before that. I had full boost by 4000rpm and carried out to 8k before is started to drop. this was with a 3071r and p12 20v cams. With n1 cams the power band would shift further up the rpm band. You also will not come anywhere 340lbft not on a vvl head. Cars making that kind of torque make over 500whp.

I mean if going regular DE is going to get me where I need to be I guess I'll stick with that, I much rather have power from 3000-7000 than 4000-8500 at that point. It will be a street car so response is a must. I do know the FullRace TS3071r kit will respond faster than a bottom mount 2871r T2.
