Late Nismo injector failures???
I was reading a post about late model Nismo injector failures due to fuel with alcohol mixture in it, I was wondering if anyone has any good input about the fuel we run today and the chance of failure, has anyone seen this first hand?

Here's the forum post for reference,
Nismo 555 Injectors Suck

I'm running a JWT Ecu tuned for z32+turbo+555cc
The reason I'm asking because I'm thinking about jumping into pre owned nismos 555 off a JDM 180sx and I would assume they would be the late old school models.

the nismo injectors that are plug and play with the sr20 are from the 95-96 model z32. 90-94 used a different injector clip. I would send the injectors to rc engineering so they can be cleaned and balanced.

right on man, thanks for the input i knew they were pretty much plug and play for that price tho i mean, it would come out to 450 with used injectors tested and cleaned with the help from RC. I would almost go out on a limb and say, get reworked injectors with a already tested flow pattern as well as a 3 year warranty for the same cost, or am I Crazy?

The spray pattern on reworked injectors are usually a problem. I used them on 1 build and had some tuning issues because of it. I have nismo 740cc injectors in the car right now. Sending the injectors to rc is a good idea but not required.

Right I know it would be definately a good option to consider. I'm just wondering the origin of the injectors themselves, old vs new. I think I would buy it in a section if it was the new style. The article was rather clear that the ECU left power to the injectors at all times with a constant 12 volts, thus causing corosion of the injector itself and causing failure, I would think that it would be rather straight forward, plug and play and if not why not do top feeds with a rail change and do resistors, I've never been a guy big on electrical. I'm just wondering how in depth these plugs would be to modify to work properly, without failure. In the article the guy mentioned that JWT was working on fixing the issue, I may reach out to Jim Wolf tomorrow in search of any answers. Indeed they're NISMO, just hard to chance 300-450 on something that wont last...

For the life of me, I still have no understanding why folks stay side feed!

450 you can pick up a nice set of top feed injectors with a fuel rail, i've seen packages on ebay one too many times for less!

Good luck with the nismo injectors..

Old vs New is real easy to tell. One will plug into your factory harness and the other will not. I have never had a issue running nismo injectors but If I were to change I would have a set of id1000's due to the newer design. they have a fantastic spray pattern.

I can understand that, From my understanding the side feeds last longer and run cooler? Does that make sense, I know alot of people run ride feed injectors, however I'm rather new to the set up if I were to considerate, I've looked around for info on set ups, I rarely want to dive into my harness, on a level of difficulty what would you consider it? wiring resistors to change impotence is something that makes me weary, a little extra elbow grease but im sure its worth it. If you have any advice or anything that should be considered that would be cool, thanks for the input JYB

they make top feeds that are high impedance. You would need to change your fuel rail and the harness connectors for the injectors. If you don't want to cut the harness you can always make a jumper harness to go between the stock connector and the injector.
