RR SR20DE to SR20DET Swap Out Questions
I'm swapping a RR SR20DE that already has 550cc injectors for an SR20DET. Can I re-use the fuel rail and injectors, or will I need to get something else for the SR20DET?

Are there any parts, or anything I should be aware of before doing this particular swap?

Thanks.

USDM or JDM RR?

USDM RR's with stock manifolds are top feeds, while JDM RR's have side feeds. Also if you converted to a lowport manifold it's sidefeed too.

DET is sidefeed so if you have sidefeeds currently you will be good.

Thanks for the info. I'll have to check on the version.

What if I were to swap out and use the entire RR head (intake and everything) on the SR20DET short block? Is this possible? Would I run into any issues doing this?

It looks as though the RR has a spun rod bearing. The Bluebird SR20DET has already been pulled apart and cleaned up, just needs to be assembled. In effect, I just want to swap out the bottom end on the motors.

Pros? Cons? Recommendations?

Thanks.

I would refer back to your other thread on that question: http://www.sr20-forum.com/turbo/63311-rr-sr20de-vs-bluebird-sr20det-rebuild.html

I have. Several times actually. That discussion was more on the pros and cons of going one way or the other. It was mentioned that I should just use the RR head on the DET short block, but there wasn't much in the way of what will swap over, etc, etc. I will continue this over there though.

If and when you don't get the answer that you like, research it yourself?

Who ever told you to swap a rr head on a DET block should be smacked in the head It makes no sense and if you do some research you will see why... Limited cam selection, smaller stock cams, no point at all with lots of extra work and places to make mistakes.
