Thread: Help with compression numbers

On my fresh rebuilt w10 motor with ve hg and s4 cams I'm getting 120-120-95-95. Is this too low and also do I need to retorque the Mazworx head studs? Thanks for any help you guys are great.

mazworx studs should be tightned to spec.

Stock pistons new rings car has 400 miles.also am using a friends hf cheapie gauge.

well, im gonna say rings havent seated yet. somethings prolly wrong. you have a finight time to seat them...

Found the fsm procedure new numbers 150-150-115-115. Is something wrong? Car runs fantastic. No oil consumption and not overheating and not burning coolant. Any thoughts?

yeah something is wrong, your way down on two pistons. im gonna say they werent gapped correctly.

Has the head come off at all? If so, what head gasket?
(Compression down on two adjacent cylinders usually means the gasket is not sealing between the two.)

No just built 400 miles ago used the ve head gasket and Mazworx studs. Do you think a retorque would hurt? Head got a valve job exhaust guides and a resurface. The block just got cleaned/honed. I torqued the studs per info card. I haven't heard of the Mazworx studs needing re torque but iirc some brands do.
