Other than time is it going to hurt to loosen and re torque the head? Might do that just to cross it off the list. Timing is spot on.

loosing it and tighting isnt gonna change anything.

ive tried retorqing heads before, it didnt work.

so the block/head were not decked/resurfaced? I'd be interested to see if a re-torquing fixes your issue out of curiosity. Not really saying you should or shouldn't, but if you do let us know.

give it a shot, i wouldnt loosen them and tighten them though, id just crank them down some more.

gonna be it still leaks. ive had this problem before.

the deck is most likely warped.

I know some one else on the forum that had issues with the mazworx studs. They used 68lbft and the head would push coolant under boost. IIrc they ended up changing the head gasket and re-torqing to 80-85lbft and all was fine.

The mazworx studs dont need to be retorqued but I believe they need to go further than 68 ft-lbs. I think that was their old spec. I think they are 85 ft-lbs now if im not mistaken.

They shouldnt loosen up. Either you have a problem with the deck surface or the studs didnt get torqued down good enough but even then at 68 ft-lbs they shouldnt allow head lift again depending on how much boost your running and size turbo.

Are you using a normal VE headgasket as in the paper gasket or are you using a metal VET gasket.

YUP this happen too me too it was done to 68lbft and it would push coolant I then went out and got another HG and TQ it down to 85 and it held up like a champ .

Im using the metal VE gasket and the head was surfaced and the block was checked for straightness. My card with the studs said IIRC 35 first step 58 second. Thats what I did. I'll try to retorque tonight and If that doesnt work I guess Ill order a new gasket from greg and torque to 85. then do a leakdown test if things arent up to par. I did do some research on zilvia and it appears that arp used to say 68 and now the current instructions are 80.

Proper sequence? (never looked at spec sheet to see if that was listed before)
