Transmission Swap: RS5F50
I have what I believe to be a RS5F50 transmission which I was hoping could be confirmed by someone on here. Also is there any way to identify if it is LSD or not? Below are some pics:

It definately looks slightly larger compared to the RS5F32 box and if my back is any good indicator it is definately heavier. The bell housing has a SR20 mounting pattern.

How involved would it be to swap one of these into my P10? From initial searching it appears that I would need to have custom axles made, convert to hydraulic, and possibly a new clutch and/or flywheel.

Has anyone done one of these swaps before? I'm wrapping up a DET and 5 speed swap and have already been through two 32V boxes that were inspected to have cracked bell housings. Now my only options are this transmission or a 32A box I have laying around. Any help would be much appreciated

Yeah its definitely a 50 series tranny and pretty sure its lsd.

As far as involvement on the swap. You will have to convert to hydraulic clutch, you will need a new clutch with the larger 1" 24 spline disk, not sure on the axles but i think you use the same axles unless you were not lsd before then you would need an lsd driver side axle. Other than that I dont know much else about them.

Use 93-94 5speed Altima LSD axles they might drop in on a P10. All you would have worry about would be the axle carrier bracket.

Thanks for the replies guys. Yeah it looks like I will need to source some 93-97 Altima LSD axles and somehow combine them with the P10 outer joints. Apparently the axles are larger diameter. I wonder if I can just get a new clutch disc that will accept the larger input shaft?

Sorry Sealti, hit reply right after you posted this. I was just about to pm you as well. Thanks for confirming. For the axle bracket can you mod the Altima to fit? Or the SR20 part to fit the Altima axles? Or is it a totally custom piece that will need to be made?

I thought p10's have bigger splines on the hub side also.

Yes P- chassis have the larger hub splines and 4x114 vs 4x100 PCD wheel mounting. I'll see if I can pick up a set of Altima axles and compare them to the G20 axles.
