Not that modifying cars isn't just as addictive.

However, at least at the end you should have a useful play-toy, and you get to keep your teeth.

Some people enjoy driving cars...aka just buying a new one that is loaded and race prepped...which is easy to do and means you just work on making $$$, but never work on cars EVER.

Some people enjoy building cars to drive...aka modifiers who buy normal cars and turn them into race cars... which is harder to do but more rewarding...and get respected through magazines...never see a porsche GT3 owner getting props on his stock $140K porsche...have you? Nope, never in a magazine, just goes out to the track and gets his ass handed to him by a CRX and a big turbo.

All i can say is that is a hell of a powerband. Making 16psi by 3800 rpm and holding decent power out to 9500.

If you want to check out the guys build, here is his thread on Zilvia.

Looking forward to the updated results!

I think I can almost match it though with similar circumstances...

Full boost (22 psi) by 4000 rpm and holds all the way to 8600 rpm.

All that from a DE!

yeah, i hear that... after I wrote that, I felt hypocritical because I wanted to build a 200+ hp N/A DE instead of going the easy route with a VE.. but I'm not loaded so I'm going with VE for now.. but i still dream of a 200 whp N/A DE

All I know from the thread is that its a Mazworx crate 2.3 VE-T engine package. Cant recall whats done to the head. I think its got all supertech valvetrain and port cleanup. I dont think there is any real headwork done to it as far as porting goes.

yeah guys, there isnt much money wise into that motor.

i think mazs vet engine package goes for 6k iirc.

impressive power none the less. must be useless on the street though.

stratton.

420WHP is not overwhelming on the street in a heavier RWD S-chassis. The S13 with less weight and less tire was able to keep itself together on the street no problem. When they start throwing some real boost at it, that could all change.

^ this coming from a guy whos been rocking 250whp for years.

420rwhp isnt much. the car dynoed at close to 1000 right. itll be a major handfull on the street, on slicks etc etc.

stratton.
