I did, I was thinking about using Xtrail Vet pistons in my W10 + VE turbo build rather than DET pistons. But from the information that has been posted the det pistons with VE head gives higher compression than VET pistons and VE head.

Plus DET's are far more available then the VET's. I would say 9.2:1 is a good mid ground between 8.5 and 9.5. Plus with VE's super knock resistance you should be able to run a ton of timing on the 9.2.

"VEs" as in the head? or you referring to the pistons? 9.2:1 would be the DET pistons tho right?

IF i did go VET pistons i would of brought them new from G Spec - But im leaning towards reusing the DET Pistons.

Check with Greg, I asked him a few years ago and he knew.

Yes VE head's are more detonation resistant.

Ah if you get them new, then it would probably be about the same cost. I have DET pistons in my old DET that I will use in my VE eventually.

Also the vet pistons have a lower offset for the ringlands preventing breaking the ringlands with detonation. Also I believe big tom said they were were also forged not cast.

gspec has em

Piston, 2.0 VVL, VET 9:1 or so (fits SR20DE), Piston from the SR20VET motor.

Yup, but I ordered my VET pistons from Gspec about a month ago, still waiting on them since they have to be specially ordered from Japan. At least Greg is great about giving updates, otherwise I'd be worried right now.

Anyone who's interested. Greg at gspec just emailed me, says he's got a set of the VET pistons in stock and ready to ship. I had to get some sooner so I'm running GTiR pistons, but for anyone else in the market, this is a good opportunity!

So a VET piston(gspec says 9:1 on a VE block) in a DE/T block w/a DE/T head would be about 8.3:1?
