Sr20det Cp pistons with Sr20ve P12 head
Is it possible to use Sr20det Cp 8.5:1 pistons with sr20ve p12 stock head on sr20det block? I have already collected the engine and realized that there might be a problem?

it will work but some mod is needed for vvl activation.

I know about oil line to activate vvl. But there is information in net that use of sr20de block with 9:1 pistons and swapped sr20ve head with n1 cams inside leads to failure. But useage of normal sr16ve cams not threatened breakdown.
Sr20ve p12 cams intake high lift 12mm (n1 same 12mm) and exhaust high lift 11,15mm (n1 11.9)
Any ideas?

Find out how deep the valve notches are in the 20v pistons and replicate on your det pistons..

The CP 8.5:1 should have valve reliefs in them. Unless they are like the Wiseco pistons.

Yikes! I would just sell them and trade for some VVL ones. Not worth messing with them. the VVL pistons are like $100 more at the most.

My motor has flat top DET pistons in it. You will be fine. If you run the motor you can get away with 2.0 and SR16 cams just fine.

Eric's (VE-T powered burgundy NX) is also running flat top DET pistons with no issues.

BTW I hope this is going to be a turbo motor. If it's a NA motor I am not sure why you would even use DET pistons.

These pistons will not clear P12 20V cams. The second you hit VVL the valves are out of there

You need to have valve notches done or sell those is pistons and get VET pistons
