B13 with 210whp T25 setup. Est. 2500lbs = 11.9lbs per hp
Stock Sti Evo 210whp (although i've seen better) Est. 3200 = 15.24 per hp

It may not seem like a lot, but just a few mods make a huge difference. When you factor in the six speed gearbox and AWD you can see where a T28 and cams might come into play...

STI or Evo with light mods 280whp. Est. 3200lbs = 11.6lbs per hp
B13 with 280whp T28 setup / Cams (Low Boost) Est. 2500lbs = 8.9lbs per hp

The only thing STi's have is a launch. After that theyve got nothing. I raced a fully bolted GT30'd STi and he could barely walk by me and I was only running 14lbs. Hell even the GT35'd STi's are only putting down like 400whp. That and there gearing is way to short to be trying to drag race that car.

i have yet to be impressed with a sti and trust me ive raced alot ! i had one hang with me. granted im not the fastest, but i havent seen a sti monster yet.

id launch spinning like a beast, theyd hook and go and id be pulling while spining past them.

semi bolted/upgraded ones, omg, people still tell me the story they heard how i destroyed the neighborhood stage 2 cobb sti. and that was like 3 years ago lol.

johnny, my buddy was building a sti with a gt35r ranting and raving how bad ass he was gonna be, before he even got 5 official runs it the **** popped like virgins cherry. stock motor of coarse.

on the other hand im patiently waiting to see how nismo1997 2.5rs with a fully built sti 2.5 swap and built tranny goes. they are suppose to be alooot faster due to the lighter wieght etc...

stratton.

I have yet to see any REAL beasty STI's, but I have seen a few EVO's that would hand me my ass. You will probably run into more EVO's anyway.

I agree. STi's aren't beasty, like Evo's are. I still want a Subaru though, you can't argue with their overall quality!

I just finished help tearing down my buddies Sti, lol. They can be pretty quick. This kid put down 510whp on a 35R. Nothing too outrageous, just a simple build. The car would spin into 3rd. If you want reliability, get a VE and throw a bottle at it. When cruising, your chillin with no worries. If someone wants to play, flick a switch and your moving out. I think a T28 would do you right though. Mine was fun until it saw 30psi for a good bit, lol.
