What transmission you use?, reinforcements?, tips?
ok this is the problem, I just replaced my tranny cause I blew up my old one.

my set up is:

sr20 BB, S13 crank, rods and pistons. well everything in my signature below.

now am pushing 20 psi, have not dynod yet but am pretty sure i crossed the 400whp line, well on decent street tires my car wont grip, not even in fourth gear, but now I threw my M/Ts and it grips but when i was test driving it the tranny blew up.

Now I was wondering what do you big power people use as far as transmissions, do you guys use stock B13 and B14 lsds or you reinforce them.

what's your power and what do you use?

thank you guys

If you are making over 400whp then p11 tranny for the win. There is always shot peening and cryo treating as well.

a p11 or b15 tranny is a good investment. I still run the stock tranny but I have done a few things to make sure it stays together. I welded the space on the passenger side tranny case shut, I run redline shock proof heavy, I have place racing motor mounts and a solid steel dog bone, I also run a street disk. I also think my lack of traction helps my trannys since I only run street tires.

Stock SR20DE tranny! Just dont drive like an ass and it should hold up fine. Mine held up to countless boost and N/A lauches, gear drops ect. The tranny lasted till 240k miles until I sheared off 4th gear on a roll into boost.

I rev match everytime I downshift. I dont beat on the car in thrid very much. Ive got prothane solid mounts and a solid metal dogbone mount, an ES shifter bushing and I run either Heavy Royal Purple tranny Fluid or Redline Heavy Duty Shockproof. Also second and fourth gear are my roll into the throttle gears no matter what. Even if I have to wait for the turbo to spool for a split second. This approach has obviously worked for me...My turbo even spools super quickly so its not like I have one of those turbos that is easy on the tranny either.

ive destroyed two stock trannys, one shot peened and cyroed b13 tranny, and one p11 tranny that had 50k or so on it. i think the p11 tranny has a bad lsd but either way it broke.

nissan trannys suck. they suck so bad it makes me not want to fix the car, and so she sits until march or so.

my recomendation is this, depending on your luck youll be good or youll be forever changing them. but that really is just your driving style. sucks cause domestic rear ends can be had for 1500 bucks and cant take more whp then you can throw at them.

o well.

stratton.
