    Default High comp + nitrous...

Has anyone tried out high compression with nitrous? I am talking ~13:1 CR.

We have had a lot of grudge racing going on and I am looking to bring my car out to settle up business. We were thinking some race fuel tuned with some juice.

The motor consists of SR16 pistons, 20VE crank/rods, VET gasket, and basic supporting mods like 4-1 header, 3'' intake/stack, kelfords, etc.

Just figured I see if anyone stepped up to see how this combo works out with a 50-75 wet shot.

I think it will work great! Just going to have to spend some time tuining. Also when your spraying, don't run my old header, that small choke is really going to hold it back with the juice.

Everyone seems to have great success with spraying on 12some compression so I think if you spend some time tuning the timing map easing the cyl pressure you'll be good to go.

13:1 is where i draw the line to stay completely N/A.

The head should be fine since you have kelfords and mods to support that. The bottom end though....eh. What size shot are you talking? What rpm? pre or post vvl?

That header is the only option for right now. Working on getting a new design built in the coming weeks.

I figure it would make for a mean setup with the right amount of torque to smack up some K cars. Jamie of course would be in charge of the figures for a relatively conservative timing map. Waiting on the pistons for the 2.3 to come in and assembly can begin. I am just tired of the drama and I would be willing to put my motor to the test and see how it likes the juice.

I still have my progressive controller so i can adust the shot to work however we would like. We can ramp it from a 30 down low to a 75 by 8500-9K.

I would like a solid 50 shot to get the car out the hole and for the added torque. It has been a very healthy N/A motor and never has seen the smack. Compression is solid across the board and never smoked. I just would do the race fuel to play it safe.

If it's a wet shot just go direct port. Single fogger set-ups cause a lop-sided effect and put a little harder load on the motor. That frees up soooo much more torque as well.. so much more fun with the direct port less labor than doors, and cheaper to add-on the dp parts that if you had to buy doors. less labor too.. a MILLION times safer and a billion times more fun..

Same question Bes I want to grab those rods and throw these pistons in and spray a direct port 80 shot thought the car would hit hard... But will it last with a good marsh tune? I think so I may do it just to see

With pistons, rods and a good tune you're golden. To be honest you wouldn't really have to go through the trouble of direct port for just an 80 shot either..

Do you think a 88 12.5:1 motor will hold up to a 100+ shot. Gathering info between going 88 or 92mm.

Im going to be building this as a dd but it would be nice to have spray available if I wanted to run it. I know a 92 is money and would require slightly different setup, but I'd like to cheap out some and go 88 with the possibility of a 100 shot.

I agree stock nissan de or ve can easily take 120 shot. I honestly wouldn't waste my time with the bottom end. Sure it fun on the motor, but you can just buy jets and make it that much easier.

High compression loves juice. Just read the plugs after pulls. Plenty of street bikes running smack...

I've been doing a little more research on this, as I'm in the process on my 88mm build.

You don't see many people running more than a 150 shot. I am gathering information on running a 200 shot with a progressive controller. But I dint see a lot of information from any smaller import motor.

Any suggestions you guys have or experience running a big nitrous shot. I will go direct port etc. For this but just looking for experience with 150-200 shot.

im just curious to know what type of power you think that build will make? and are you still on stock sleeves?

I'm hoping with some good tuning I'll see between 230-250hp. I'm going to be on stock sleeves for now. If I sleeve I'll go 92mm.

The spray is something for the future as this car is a dd/ hpde/ street toy. Its just one of those let's see what it can do semi safely. Also if I'm on the street and some snob in a Porsche or vette wants to play I can show them what's up.
