    Default How To Datalog TP with Nissan Data Scan for B14's.

    Here is a quick guide on how to get TP to data log in Nissan Data Scan on B14's. This worked with Real Time Ecu's, should work with Basics too, but I can't guarantee that.

    B13 guide can be found here.


    First thing's first, backup your current XDF file, it will save you the trouble. Then open up TunerPro.

    Select a location in Tables/Functions where you would like to add the new table to. Right click and select Insert New XDF Item.


    Create a new Table and save the XDF File, exit TunerPro.


    At this point we are going to cheat but only because it will save you and me a lot of time. Generally you do NOT want to manually modify the XDF file, in this case it shouldn't cause any problems. If it does then you might just have to manually enter it through TunerPro.

    Open up the B14 XDF file with your Notepad and search for "New Table".


    Add the following information right under "000002 UniqueID =0x7BD9" in your XDF file then save it.

    Start up TunerPro and you should see a new table.



    When you double click on the table you should see a long table with a bunch of values. The register that we have in mind is "OA", which is "O2 Sensor RH". B14's don't have a right hand O2 sensor, so it's a free register. Any of the registers with "FFFF" are unused.



    For B14's the TP value is "314E", lets put that into OA. Note you can get TP values for other cars here.


    Save your bin file and upload it to the ECU.

    Start the car and fire up Nissan Data Scan, get connected and and click on Settings -> Data Display.


    A new window should pop up, click on Test for live registers. This will start scanning for all of the registers, Make sure Register A is supported.


    Click close and add the new gauge to the list of gauges to display.


    Show all of the gauges and now you should see your TP and can data log it!


    Something to keep in mind is, if you use another register the values might not be in the simple easy to read format. O2 Sensor RH seems to be spot with the TP value wise.

    I would love to get boost readings and AFR readings into the ECU. That would complete all my needs for tuning on the street.

    Yeah in the US you cannot use ECU's that don't have emissions standards, unless your car came like that, and you can't modify your ecu to get around emission standards.

    Cops probably wont because they are not car experts for the most part. When you go to pass emissions though if you have an OBDII car, they will try to use the OBDII port. If you have a standalone that port wont be functional AFIK.

    You broke something, this is why it's highly suggested that you don't manually modify the XDF file. Did you make sure not to touch the Unique ID?

    Pass emissions? We havent had testing in FL since I was in elementary school. Silly northerners.

    Really? That's odd. I live in a small city so we have nothing, but near DC it's pretty intense.

    It's also illegal to remove parts of your emissions equipment like your cat and your EGR, but people do that all the time too.

    can I somehow wire a MAP sensor into an unused register in the ECU?

    so if I wire a MAP sensor to my unused rear o2 sensor harness (pin 52), what do I need to do to log that value in datascan? I read here that the register number is 35: http://www.plmsdevelopments.com/imag...able_Ver_2.pdf

    but that doesn't make much sense, how can I find the address?

    I would ask Dave in the TunerCode section about that one actually

    can anyone verify that this will work with a b14 basic board? If not I will be able to next week when my consult cable arrives.

    and just a side note, when doing this I was getting funky code when adding the XDF paramater from TunerPro. Here is a sample of the funky looking code.

    All of my XDF's that I modified from TunerPro do this.

    To get around this I just took a untouched XDF and manually added the Consult table as well as adjusted the RPM paramaters for the fuel and timing maps. Although its not reccomened to modify the XDF manually, this is how I will be doing it for now.

    Well I finally got my consult plug to work (complications due to auto to manual swap) and this method works great to log TP with a basic board.
