Which drive shaft do i use?
gday guys, i recently bought a 1992 N14 Pulsar with an SR20DET in it and also a broken gearbox! i got another box with the car and fitted it today and found out that its slightly different to the box i pulled out! The standard left hand drive shaft doesn't fit because the housing is different( only where the shaft goes in to the box) and i've been told that the new box has an LSD in it and requires and different shaft but i cant even find a listing for one! does anyone on here know were i could find the correct drive shaft? cheers, Brad!

Is this a FWD Pulsar?

I don't know for sure, but it's possible a halfshaft from an LSD-equipped FWD B-chassis would be the same thing and we know where to get those...

Do you know what other cars in your area came with a FWD SR20 and LSD? The P-chassis axles from an LSD-equipped Primera might also work?

The other members will chime in soon with more info I'm sure.

hey frenchy,

looks like you might of scored either a n15 vzr box, or a primera lsd box. as our main forum, the pulsar group of australia, is down atm, why not join up on the f/b pga, and try to buy/borrow/steal one.

primera box's have a slightly different spline from memory, which can really complicate things. does the rhs cv fit ok? you got a few pictures of the gearbox?

pic of difference below

@Frenchy being new shouldn't stop you from posting pictures, but I've moved you out of the New Members group anyway.
Go ahead and try again if you wish.

@Frenchy, posting attachments is not recommended on this forum. It really is a poor way to do things for lots of reasons I won't get into.
The better solution is to host the image somewhere (Imgur is highly recommended) and then link to it here.
