Axle shaft pop out.
I was replacing the strut on the passenger side of my 92 SE-R when the axle shaft seemed to pop out of its housing. I'm guessing because the suspension was lower than usual? Its on the inner axle end. The boot is stretched and the axle shaft will not go back in. Has anyone experienced this before?

I know it sounds weird but its difficult to explain. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my DD so I gotta fix this ASAP.

Thanks.

Passenger side.

After feeling around the axle boot it feels like the drive shaft and spider assembly popped out of the housing. I'm trying to pop it back in but it won't budge.....

It has a metal ring that hold the spider in place. You will have to take it apart and re-install.

Axle shaft pop out.
It will slide back. You just have to aim the correct position of the spider bearing. If you are now sure of the position and it didnt slide. Take a rubber mallet and mildly slam it.

Is this an oem or aftermarket shaft? I had this happen to me on an empi shaft at stock ride height. Never had the issue with an oem shaft. In my case I was able to pop it back in by rotating it around and gently pushing on it.

Thank you all for your responses.

I was able to pop it back in. But it took a while. I believe this is a rebuilt axle, because the PO had stated they had been replaced. Thanks.
