Where does your clutch engage?
I don't know if my clutch is engaging in the right spot. My clutch grabs pretty much as soon as I let up on the pedal. And its also pretty tough to push the pedal in for a normal disc and spring setup. I have a Exedy stage 2 clutch inside an OG B13 transmission.

I drove my friends 94 P10 and the clutch engaged when the pedal was half way out.

you can adjust the clutch engagment point. you do this by tightening and loosening the clutch cable.

I knew that part but do I have it engaging at the wrong time?

As long as your clutch fully disengages and fully engages then everything is fine. where the peddle placement is, is personal preference. I prefer mine to be close to the floor but alot of people like it in the middle.

Yah, it is sort of up to personal preference, and I too like mine to grab right at the floor.

However, too close to the floor can cause over-centering issues where the pressure plate fingers lock in the disengaged position. It also seems to put more stress on the clutch cable. As the clutch wears and the cable stretches the grab point can get so low that you can't fully disengage the clutch anymore and/or the over-centering happens more and the clutch pedal doesn't have enough spring force to pull the cable back.

All in all, I've learned to adjust mine a bit off the floor now to avoid a lot of issues I experienced when it was grabbing too low. I don't have it grabbing in the middle by any means, but I don't have it down as low as before.

My recommendation is that the clutch should grab anywhere from from the 1/2 to 3/4 travel. Past 3/4 you have the issues I talk about above. Closer than 1/2 travel and I'm not sure you'd get the full clamping force of the pressure plate.

My clutch engages at the very top 1/4 of the pedal. @BenFenner hates it
