Last night I went out to the track in attempts to get into the 11's. A few weeks ago I ran a 12.56 at 110mph. Not too shabby but the humidity here is nearly 50% and it was 80 degrees F at night. I was happy with that but knew I wanted to go faster.
I have since removed everything behind the front seats that is not vital to operation. I ran without the passenger seat as well. My best last night was 12.052 at 118mph. I was ecstatic but sad I didn't reach my goal. My 60ft time was 1.957. I can attribute this to the horrible track conditions (test and tune night they prep the track at 7pm, and I get there at around 10pm). There was literally pebbles and dust where I launch at. Here was my setup: Stock W11 Motor O2 Induction style intake manifold 2.5" intercooler piping 3.5" pro fwd style exhaust GTi-R Manifold and Turbo (@20psi) ![]() 91 Octane Fuel Suby 520cc Injectors @ 4 bar Rich base tune Calum RT ECU MT 22x8x15 slicks @10psi From what I can tell, this is easily a mid 11 second car if I can hook better. Plans for the future: Zeitronix Zt-2 Wideband VE Headgasket New Stock Headbolts S4 Cams BC Springs and Retainers Tubular Short Ram Turbo Manifold (w/Tial 38mm) Let me know what you guys think. The rest of my setup is in my sig. |

Boost is goooood

good times, but yeah you should have been able to pull at least a 1.8 60' with those slicks, i have the same ones and im going for a 1.7 60ft at best, that right there would have put you at 11.8 at least. good trap speed, you definetly need to get some s4's they make the world of difference. I cant believe your running 20psi on the gtir turbo, most stop at 18psi but hey whatever helps and on pump gas at that, i would not even attempt, haha but mine is a jdm 9.5:1 motor so yeah. I have an S15 Dual BB turbo that is going on soon and will be running the same suby 520's on my calum ecu but on 18psi with 100 octane in the tank, cant take any chances. Neways great times and just work on the launches, the track i go to usually is prepped pretty well so next time out i should be able to put up some good times.

Thanks. Yea the track was in poor shape. Dusty and little pebbles at the start... I also think I could do a little better burnout as well if my brakes would hold. I have drum brakes in the rear and when locked I still move forward in the water box.
What rpm do you guys with similar setups launch at? I tried different rpms but settled on dropping it at about 7k rpm. As for the boost, I went up little by little and didn't hear any detonation or funny sounds. I turned it back down to 15psi for daily driving. The car is super rich. I get about 20mpg if I am lucky and black soot is on the side of my car if that is any indication.
