Took the new setup to the track and destroyed third gear...FML

Not to shabby first time out on the new setup, this was only my 4th time launching on the 2step, street tires at 18psi, still on the wastegate 14psi. I dialed a 8.91 with my t25 setup after a good while of playing and tweaking so I know with seat time that will come way down. Third run i shredded the teeth off third gear so i will be busy finding another trans or having this p11 i have sitting rebuilt after i get the funds in order...

Slicks man, it will be much easier on the gearstacks. Oh and Valvoline 85w140 in the trans. It will save the trans, guaranteed.

What ashton said SLICKS, when properly used will drop your 60' time in the 1.7's and overall drop your time in the 1/8 by about .7 to .8 of a second.

Yea Dom, i knew that trans wasnt going to last long after i put that stage 4 clutch in, and i just knew it was a going to be time bomb with this new setup.

How are slicks are easier on the stacks?!

Because they provide give and flex whereas street tires do not. Put it this way, with my 461whp and 550whp, and also my t25 setup I had yet to break a transmission at the track. But have broken plenty on the street.

Also again, if you chose to run street tires still, I would at least switch your gear oil to Valvoline 85w140. Its a night and day difference man. I guarantee you wont be breaking any stacks any time soon with the stuff.

After I went to a twin disk setup on my 60 trim t3 setup, I broke 3 stacks on various oils. Went to 85w140 and the next stacks lasted 9 months, 4X the combined mileage of all 3 stacks previous, and harder abuse and even more power as i went to 30psi from 24psi and an aftermarket intake manifold and Q45 throttle body. Only explanation.....The gear oil. Everyone that ive gotten to use it has absolutely loved it and their problems with breaking stacks went away.

Again no other explanation for the new stacks to last that long as i did the same hard shifts on street tires on the street that broke them before, even more drag passes, and all around harder abuse.

I still broke my tranny with that oil but it might have broken sooner without it.
I only broke it on the street though, never at the track

Exactly, and im sure the gears lasted longer than previously when no using that oil.
