Cory, I just read that you are breaking axles, a little late to ask i'm sure. but are you pre-loading on your launch? or just clutch dropping? If you are just clutch dropping with any decent tire, slicks, drag radials, or whatever then yeah, your going to keep breaking axles. you need to use the clutch and pre-load a little. you will get a better 60ft as well as have everything last a lot longer. If you are doing this already, then something isnt right. I've never broken any parts at the track before and neither has any of my friends up here. even cars that run high 9's on stock axles, transmissions and so on.
just food for thought. |

yea if you read earlier in the post i was saying i know the axles are breaking because im not preloading the car. i wasnt able to preload because the ebrake was weak and sticking wasnt working right. but ill have that fixed next time i go out.
the header is a custom 4-1 that i had made, and the intake manifold was one made by fastNX. this pass was with the custom intake manifold, i was making 210whp for this run. and there is a velocty stack inside the filter

snickers yeah yeah, i know.....pwned! I read the whole thread but i must have read to fast and skimmed over that. you should have a 12.6 in that thing if you get a good launch and a 1.65 60ft. What are you shifting at? 9k? your power curve looks great and from looking at it, thats what i'm guessing. ur reving to Last edited by snickers : 01-17-2009 at 11:30 AM. |

Trapping 108 before? I can't wait to see your results next time. I finally practiced a little bit of preloading the last time I was at the strip after snapping an axle. I only got to try it a few times, it will defintely take quite a bit of practice as they dont give you any prep time at the tree, as soon as you stage there is maybe about a one second delay. I might try staging the first light, pulling the ebrake, then inching up for the second light and just drag the rear tires to save time ![]()
