What goes into a 14 flat DE B13
...on street tires, that's driveable?

I'm really surprised to see that nobody has posted faster than 14.3 since forever ago, what's with that?

I ran a 14.3 @ 100mph in a b13 with full interior and an untuned t-25 on 7lbs of boost and old crappy street tires. I later found out I was making about 170whp when I made this pass. You can keep an N/A DE, strip all the interior and such and run lower than 13.9 with some good tires its not that hard you just need to know how to drive.

There are 13 sec des. I'm sure they'll chime in

im dieing to take my car to the track(B14, 167whp) but from what i hear a DE needs to be around 180whp, and have a serious diet to dip into the 13s....maybe when summer is over(i work for the school board no work no money) ill hit the track, with my DE(ill try a small diet)

According to 'the numbers' you would need a 2400lb car with 175whp and a perfect run to run a 13.9. That's asking a lot from a DE but it's doable, probably, with big cams...but you might honestly need headwork or high compression pistons to get to get a consistent 13 second car without completely stripping it.

One local guy did 14.1sec. on hillcimb Avon slicks with 175hp DE (not whp!). It has BC stg2 cams, Calum ecu with tune, ssac header, exhaust, p11 maf, no filter and weight reduction - around 2000lbs.

Its because most people go with a VE as its the cheaper way to go. A ve in even a full interior b13 can go well into the upper 13's on street tires without issues. With weight reduction even faster.

I am still very surprised there are not faster de's posted up as i did that time with my very first se-r with full interior and only weight reduction was no A/C in the bay and no spare tire and jack in a 91 SE-R with sunroof.

Mods were short ram intake with JWT pop charger and K&N filter, JDM intake runners, SSAC 2 1/4" first generation header, 2 1/4" exhaust with gutted cat, JUN ultralightweight flywheel and Spec 6puck unsprung clutch, JWT S3 cams, UR crank and water pump pullies. Time done on stock B13 wheels with Falken Azenis set to around 20psi.

I know people can go faster than that using a better header, 3" exhaust, S5 or C series cams, and some engine management. I was on a stock ecu with timing set at 19*.

all you need is the following, seen it done with this exact set up in a b14 (14.01@101 mph)

intake, 17* timing, header/exhaust, highport intake cam/gtir exhaust, clutch/light flywheel, mounts, decent suspension, 255lph, 75shot, g20 ecu, 1 step colder plugs, new oem wires

have seen them go faster with similar setup there is someone on here that went 13.5 or so with a very similar setup, think his name is civicsuck or something like that

Damn your could run much faster than 13.5 with a 75 shot and some slicks. Everyone that plans on drag racing should just buy slicks in the first place.
