What Tyres are you Using at the Strip?
Just asking for you guys to share your the type if tyres you use at the drag strip and your experience.

I am not best of drag racer and only got a best 60' of 2.2 on some mav-1 maxxis 300 tread wear tyres.

Dont wanna get slicks. I am looking for something I can drive to track and race on and drive back home. Not a serious racer.

I wouldnt mid something that could get me a 2.0 or 2.1 60'.

My two immediate option based on availability are:

1. Federal 595 RS-R 140 treadwear - 205/50/15

2. Nitto n555R 100 treadwear - 205/45/15. Think I will spin these too much

Car is Lucino n15. 190hp, 149tq.

Looking to run 13.8- - 14.0.

Only managed 14.1 when I did the 2.2 60'

Thanks

Peace

The bf's drag tires worked very good
on
my brothers car when he was all
motor, my buddy is running 205-50-15 drag radials bf's on his 294 whp turbo car and has ran 12.4, I think that tire will
be plenty for you.

For strip use definately use the nitto's they are specifically made for drag and have decent treadwear rating fo such a tire. They are constructed differently than normal tires. Federal tire is good but it is intended more for cornering.

Another good inexpensive option are the azenis, but they also are not a drag tire.

Bottom line, between the n55r and the 595rs-r, I'd much rather go with the nitto's.

Nittos are to hard and need more burnout to get them to stick, burnout more wear

Don't rule out the Mickey Thompson Dr out. They also hook very well but, they will also wear a lot faster.

Overall the Nitto is better.

mickey thompsons E.T. streets 205x50x15,this is the only ones i've tried and they hook good. it also depends on the drivers experience on any of these tires IMO...but i got a best of 1.98 60'ft but thats just me good luck man!

I love BFG drag radials. The last size I ran was the 205/50-14s which I had consistent 1.9 60fts and even hit a 1.8 60ft with them. This year I'm running the 225/50-15 BFG drag radials. I'll be running them on the street, too.
