Thread: Drag Radial Record?

Just wonder if anyone knows who holds the fastest drag radial times? As of recent I have become very interested in this and I think this is somthing I am going to shoot for with my new set up.


I know my dude Gio just went 11.5 on radials. I also know Payu has been involved in some fast drag radial cars.

Post them up if you have any info. Detail on tire size and brand would be great.

a drag radial record has to be held on a specific tire size that everyone uses. There are drag radials from 22" up to '25" that can work. So the guy with the bigger tire has a bigger advantage.

Yeah the Honda guys are using 235-60-15's lol.

Regardless it's a drag radial. I am not trying to get over technical here. I just want to see what people have done on a street approved tire regardless the tire size.

newb question but whats the difference between drag radials and drag slicks then?

I know im no where near a record but i went 12.7@117 on stock b13 rims with bfg's

A Drag "Radial" is a DOT approved street tire that is pretty much made for drag racing. Call it a slick with a stiffer side wall, harder surface and groves cut into it to make it streetable.
