Rear end squat during launches
After putting all the bushings in and motor mounts, I noticed that I am still getting some rear end squat during launch. I know if I eliminate this that that wasted engery can be converted into a better 60' time. How are some ways that you guys deal with this problem? I am using tein basics so the compression /rebound can't be adjusted. I thought I heard of someone before talking about a spacer that goes between the spring coil to stop it from compressing but I do not know where to start to look for those... I don't know what they are called.

its funny, i used the things your talking about and they helped a ton. you can go buy them at pep boys or autozone, they seriously work, they wedge in between the spring.

yeah, i have gc coilovers on gr2's and there is basicly no rear squat on hard launches on slicks, before on my stock suspension it was pretty bad. But yeah they will work but they wont be nice on driving around like that. Strip use only.

Ahhh... someone has used them before. Do you have a name or a part number so I can pick some of those up denske? Even a picture would be helpful.

Yea Ashton, I planned on only using them for the strip. I don't even want to feel how those ride on the road.

They are spring spacers. I use them and they help a LOT. I bought mine at Checkers Auto parts. They are a hard rubber and come in different size and thicknesses. What I ended up doing was getting thicker ones and cutting/trimming them, so that when I had the car jacked up, I could barely squeeze them in between the spring coils. My car noticably sat up higher in the back when they were in.

Here is a pic of a couple different sizes. You can see my great trim job on the big ones.

Do you use all of those at once?

No, 4 in a package. Just jack up the car, stuff 2 on each spring across from each other. Then the weight of the car will keep them in place.
