Went to the drag strip today 04/03/09
I went to West Palm Beach Speed Way today and had alot of fun.

I went on 205/40/17 drag radials which are 23.5" in Dia, but I could not launch the car. I had to easy it out first and then gun it. I still did very good with the occasional bad run.

The temp was 86 degrees out and very humid, so not the best of conditions.

Here are my best runs

60' = 2.047
330 = 5.704
1/8 = 8.685
MPH = 82.06
1000 = 11.262
1/4 = 13.434
MPH = 104.17

60' = 2.117
330 = 5.831
1/8 = 8.837
MPH = 81.24
1000 = 11.345
1/4 = 13.512
MPH = 104.01

60' = 2.163
330 = 5.884
1/8 = 8.886
MPH = 81.53
1000 = 11.474
1/4 = 13.548
MPH = 104.14

60' = 2.168
330 = 5.878
1/8 = 8.890
MPH = 81.10
1000 = 11.497
1/4 = 13.692
MPH = 103.15

Now here is why I felt very good about today. There was a girl with an Acura Integra with a JDM 220 HP K20 Type R Swap in it with bolt ons. She said the car made 238 WHP, she consistantly ran 2 MPH slower than me in the 1/8 of a mile but but got 1.9 and 1.8 60 ft times with slicks. She ran 13.054 at 104 and 13.105 at 104 MPH with 23/8.5/15 slicks.

If I could put some slicks on my car and run a 1.9 or 1.8 60 ft time which I dont see as a problem with slicks from the numbers I should run 12.8-13.0 wit a 1-2 higher MPH of 105-106 MPH because of the better launch.

Also my car was full with all the seats in and I had a 50 pound part in the trunk so I am very happy. It looks like I will have to change out my brakes and put some smaller ones on so I can get some slicks on there to run a 12 sec time slip before the 2.3L VE motor goes in.

Are you going to do the budget 2.3L setup you talked about in that other thread?

Any ideas on what you may run on street tires?

Nope. I wish I knew that the Mazworx gasket would work with 92 mm pistons at the time. If I knew I would have had a 2.4L

Remember my motor that is built is a 2.313L 90mm pistons with 91mm crank.

I think it will run 12.8 at 110-112 MPH on street tires.

I think you're missing the point...lol...I watched Dre and the girl run, She's on Slicks bigger than mine and claims to be 235whp on a stock K20, "stock". Miko left later than she did and still ran 900's slower by the end of the track. When he came back and we compared slips, his 60', 18th mile and MPH were all faster. Point of it all, on the street, she'd get WALKED, but on the track, her advantage was the slicks and only slicks. If Miko ran on slicks, it'd be all over.

That racoon was so happy when I freed him from the garbage can. He jumped in and because the can was just about empty he could not get out. He was already in there for about 2 hrs before I freed him.
