The R32 is pretty much just like working with a Z32 ecu- very easy. They're an older 8-bit design, you can just socket the factory ROM chip and use an off the shelf emulator (Romulator, motes ostric, etc).

The R33 is pretty much unworkable.

What engine and chassis are you going to use it for?

It's on my 240 with an RB26 in it. It's the stock RB ECU. I was just wondering if it could RTed, because that would rock. I am 75% sure it was from an R32. I could get the number off the ECU if that would help.

EDIT: I just took a damn pic rather then trying to explain the numbers:

If its an R32 then its pretty easy to work with. Can you open the top lid? There should be a second board inside, just unscrew it and fold it away.

Yea, thats an R32. See the chip with a sticker on it? You just unsolder that and replace it with a socket. Then use any emulator of your choice (Romulator, Moates ostrich, NisTune). You would still need an external consult adapter to get the consult data.

If I sent it to you could you hotwire it to be RT? Or is using an emulator as good as it's going to get? And thank you so damn much for your help, you are the man!

Well, the RT is really just a special emulator + consult adapter on the same board, using a single USB connection. I don't make anything that works with that ecu, but you can achieve the same result using a ROM emulator + consult adapter. You just end up with two cords, and the amount you spend is probably in the same ballpark.

I can install the socket for you but I've got no way of testing that ecu (I would need to hack up a Z32 or R32 harness).

I sent you an email on this with a few other questions, but I knwo you check the boards more often so I will repost them here for you:

1) I got a z32 harness lead so we can use that to test the R32 ECU with RT.

2) I am getting pissed at this ECU. I got a RT and it is running rich as hell at idle, like off the charts rich. I was running a MINES, and the RT has the MINES setup on it you sent me but it doesn't seem to like it much. Plus I cant get any form of consult working with it; be it dirct from USB or from the port. And I cant get the cute little red litght to tell me why I am throwing a CEL; it just stays on no matter if I turn the screw or not. I've switched back to the MINES for now, but I go into surgury on Wednesday... is there any way I can just send you the RT and Mines ECU along with the R32 ECU and harness & you just make the RT exactly like the MINES, and I can start having RT play time when I figure out how the heck those fuel charts are measured in ProTuner? It would be nice if I could just have all the same stuff from the ECU that runs my car great right now and not have to worry about it for a bit, and with my surgery I will not be able to drive for a week or so, so it would sort of all work out.

3) Oh yea, I was going to ask for your number or something because I had all these frustration questions along with how the hell these fuel maps work... but mainly I wanted to ask if you could get the RT working just like my MINES for right now.

Thanks!

Bro Skyline ecu like the RB20 and RB26 the nistune board is the best way to go. Cheaper than a PFC.

I really like the Nistune option for the 8-bit ECUs. Can you call me this evening?
