MINES ecu
Got a question for you Calum: Do you have the maping for the MINES tuned GTi-R ECUs? Just wondering because I was thinking of going RT and would like that as a base.

Sweet! Saves me the trouble of sending you mine to look at. Out of curiosity, what all is it?

Also, and I am sorry if I missed this somewhere, but can you use any B14 (pre-'98, GA16 or SR20) for a RT ECU base? I.E.: will the OBD crap work now, or will it go crazy since I have a R with a B14 harness hooked up to it? I hate CELs.

Thanks again!

Sorry.

The Mines really isn't too much different from a stock gtir ecu (adjusted fuel and timing maps, removed fuel cut). Its a good starting base, but like working with any already 'tuned' ecu you really need to know exactly what the car they were working with was setup like (stock, etc).

You can use a GA core, but you will get a CEL. For no CEL you need a 95-97 SR federal ecu with manual tranny.

Now that I think about it... there is next to no way in hell i could run a OBDII ECU and not throw a cel. I have none of the emmisions crap anymore. I ran with the stock b14 harness so i can have easy hook up to the car, and an OBDI to OBDII adapter was easy, but thinking about it now switching to an OBDII ecu would be pointless because it would never pass emisions without all the crap that i don't even have anymore, right?

Long question short, in your opinion would it be best to just stick with an OBDI ECU with my setup?

Also, If I go with a b14 or b13 ecu, will I need to remove the resistors for the injectors? Man this is complicated...

Yes, and you will need the resistors for the injectors!
