so does that mean we can tune and set rev limiters up there?

So you think it could be reading correct with that duty cycle?

He's also going zero miles an hour. It's probably in neutral.

True, and at the same time 12.5 volts is low for a running car, let alone that high of an rpm.

Actually its just running an engine simulator. It just looks like an ECU wired to a big circuit board that simulates all the different inputs and outputs. Really handy for testing, maybe I should have taken the 14.6kRPM snapshot.

Yea, the stock ECU stops counting at 8012.5RPM. Its not that the ECU stops functioning past that, it just doesn't increment its RPM measurement. So any triggers or columns you set above that point aren't ever reached. So if you datalogged a car rev'ing over 8012.5 what you would see is the RPMs go up, then stop at 8012.5 even though the engine was going past that point. Really not a big deal for 90% of the cars out there, but for the VEs with cams setting the rev limit at something like 8.5k would be handy.

Dave Dunn did the firmware modification to fix that, and there is other cool stuff in the pipeline. Tentatively I think the highest RPM with this firmware you would want to run to is ~12.8kRPM, which is basically plenty for any SR20 motor.

Ahh ok, that makes sense. I was just sketchy cause of the odd readings.

Ohh man if I could just set a rev limit of 9K on my RT id be set!

How would we get this firmware modification done? Do we have to get it sent out or can we grab this from somewhere? Sorry if this is already answered. I didn't see it posted anywhere.

Any updates on how to get this done?
