Few Questions Regarding VVL .bin
Calum, I have three questions for you and couldn't reach you by email.

1st:

Would you be interested in a NX2000 auto ecu?

2nd:

I have a realtime running my sr20ve, with one of your basemap tunes (n1's), I am assuming the o2 sensor is deleted? When I get my new header from Charles, will I not have any problems unplugging the sensor and leaving the plug open?

3rd:

Same goes for knock sensor. Is there any easy way to re-activate it? Or perhaps you have a good reason to leave it off? I don't see the merit of not having a safety device activated.

Thanks allot Calum.

1 - No, sorry.

2 - I don't know. Open your bin with TunerPro and check to see if the O2 feedback is unchecked. I don't do that by default, so unless you requested it, it should use the O2 sensor.

3 - Don't re-activate it. Its false triggers if you've got a header+exahuast+solid motor mounts.

Calum just to double check here, using rt pro, are you referring to the flag's:

0038 - bit 5 - O2 Sensor Flag
0038 - bit 4 - Knock Sensor Flag

And obviously unclicking "set" will deactivate the sensor.

I was also going to ask, I am having Charles make me a new header for the ve, I am not going to have an o2 bung on my primary. How poor will my idle and cruising be with just street tuning for 14.7? Will the motor have a hard time with no closed loop correction?

Thanks.

check peeked in on this thread and had a question about the above flag checking.

my bins have checks in the set boxes for the o2 and knock. am i understanding that the knock should not have a check? if so how can i go about getting a new set of chips?

I am getting 20-25mpg now around town here lately. This is after switching to an n60 maf. I used Calum's sr16ve tune to convert the n60 over with.

It's a pita. I will hit a red light the idle will be 15.0afr, at 1k, then it will hold there and the afr will drop to 13.0....wot is around 12.5-13.3.

If I am cruising in any gear at say 2k, and mash it afr's dump to 10-11, then slowly climb to 13ish after 4-5k.

I really got to get to the dyno, but there is so much other **** I feel is more important budget wise in preparation for Savannah.

When I was running my pito bin on the de maf I was getting 35+ avg for a tank.
