Opening up a discussion on SR20VE +N1 cam tunes..
Mods please relocate this to a different location if you feel that this is not the correct place for this...Ultimately I would like for this to be a sticky once it gets populated enough...

Well, I would like to open up a discussion on our SR20VE plus N1 cam based tunes, so that we can all share our data and maybe in the future we will have a much better feel and understanding for what is the best tune for this motor. I will start off with one of the most sought after tune, which is SR20VE + N1 cams. I know a lot of people with SR20VE motors are headed towards getting the N1 cams and tuning it, so that is why I would like to populate this thread.

Well, I started off with the frankie.bin courtesy of payu, which you can get here ( n1 ve programs - SR20 Forum ). When I opened it up the upper rpm limit on the fuel map was 7200rpm, so I am assuming that after that, the fuel map will stay the same? Dudeman has also tried out the pito.bin but had some issues with lean conditions, so I think frankie bin is a better starting point. This is what I noticed with the frankie bin... At about 4k - 5.6k rpm, it would start to lean out to mid 14's afr, so in the upper TP (about 56 - 64)I increased the fuel to about 33 (again this is from 4k rpm to and including 5.6k rpm since 5.6k rpm is where I have the VVL activated; however, payu recommends 6k rpm, but I just wanted to see what mine does with an earlier activation). When the solenoids activates (after 5.6k rpm), I would leave the fuel alone unless you see lean conditions. I think this is a good STARTING point. I just got a G3 innovate today, so after I install that and mess with the logworks and datascan to also monitor knock, I will be able to get a more accurate data and tune and will update this thread accordingly. Currently I am just basing it off of my AEM Uego and eye balling my stock tachometer (stock tachometers are typically off by a little).

My plan is to first tune to about 13.3 afr from 3k rpm and on, and then while looking at the knock counts, adjust the timing map until I get almost no knock at all.

Anyone else please feel free to provide your thoughts and data about your tunes.

I tried out the pito.bin today..and... please do NOT use that bin. It was dangerously lean...Maybe payu had his fuel pressure at close to 4 bars or something...go ahead and use the frankie bing and adjust it like stated above...

Are you using Tuner Pro GT??

The biggest factory that will affect BOLT ON STOCK SR20VE N1 setups is the header. I can tell you that after messing with numerous VE setups and having about 15 different header designs on hand. The header (with N1 cams especially) will change the tune more because it can greatly affect the VE of the motor which not only affects the A/F but also the ignition timing of the motor.

I am using TunerPro RT.

I am currently still tuning the car and almost close to where I want the AFR. My target is 13.0 afr, which I assume is safe and optimum. I am just having a little problem with getting the afr to 13 when vvl hits, which is now 5600rpm. Right now, up to 5600rpm, my afr is 12.9-13.1, but when vvl hits it's 12.1. Once I get closer to 13.0 afr when vvl hits, I will post my bin.

The Frankie.bin is for a b13 right? Because whenever I tried loading it in the past I would get really weird maps and when I tried loading it with Rom Editor it would just give me an error. If it is for a b13 does anyone have it for a b14? I would like to compare the timing maps compared to the 2 tunes that Nathan sent me a while back. I think I might have to use less timing because I'm using charles 4-1 header bought from GregV.

My setup is currently:
B14 99 sentra SE
sr20ve +n1 cams
Supertech S&R
stock intake with generic pop charger
Charles 4-1 header
ultra power wires
Thermoblock spacers using all 3 spacers
Gspec Aluminum WP pulley
Aluminum Flywheel 9lbs
ACT clutch 6 puck clutch

Gspec CS Cam Gears not on the car yet.

Oh ok. If I wanted to try the frankie bin on a b14 would I just copy the fuel and timing maps and put them on a b14 bin that I have?
