Ready for a new RallyX season, last years nationals 2nd place M2 car goes on a diet
So after losing Nationals by only about 1 second total time, I decided that bringing a 20 year old stock car with no mods besides ripping out the nasty interior parts that I didn't want to touch and custom day of the event flames wasn't going to cut it.

So over the winter while it didn't get a full rally suspension at least nothing is blown any more, new shocks, poly bushings, and tons out weight reduction. Everything (just about is gone) Pulled the door shells, all the interior, shelled the hood, trunk, all the steel crash beams and bumpers, everything is gone, or lightened, battery some lexan, and the new dirt removal system. Even added by Jeep Rubicon Skidplate.

The only thing that remains is the A/C because it actually still works and it keeps the driver sane on the 100+ degree oklahoma days.....if it ever quits, then it will come out.

It will get some tractor paint soon too! So it won't be the happy car much longer. Hopefully it will go faster......

Dig the gauges and door pulls.

I'm excited about some RallyCross. I just downsized to a 1.6L Sentra front swaybar and want to see how it works.

If it helps traction, it might be another cheap upgrade to put on your car.

When I used to rallycross my B13 I ran some custom drop-in springs (275/225) that were 3/4" taller than stock, and ran no sway bars at all. Compliance over roughs surfaces was awesome, and drive traction improved a ton.

I also pulled my front sway after not finding traction. Jim, since you now have my coil over setup, I'd be willing to tie up the sway bar links (do it at lunch so you have same day comparison) and see if traction improves.

In my two prior rally cars I took the sway bars out on any event that did not had Tarmac , and the handling was day and night comperd to went they were on
Best of luck .

I downsized from stock SE-R front and Progress adjustable rear swaybars to B14 1.6L front and stock SE-R rear bars. I really, really liked the balance of the car with the bigger bars, so maybe I can replicate the behavior with less of penalty in power delivery. I may have enough spring rate to not need one or both. We'll see.

On stock springs, I figure people still want a front swaybar of some kind to keep from bicycling the car in a freak bumpy transition like you might see at a tighter RallyCross. If it doesn't out work on my car, maybe Bobby might want to try my B14 front bar.

Hope you have a great season and keep us updated. I am really against the destruction of original SE-R's since they are going to literally be worthy classics, but since you are competing nationally go for it!

Any plans cosmetically? As in, making it look better?lol

Of course, now you get to run "Modified Front" or "MF"

Stupid name for a class.
