Check the vitals like oil level, coolant level, brake fluid level, brake pad life, tire life, etc.

This + hoses and alignment. Everything will get stressed. If it can break it will.

Don't worry about tire psi or adjusting suspension first time out. It makes a difference but you are going to be overwhelmed with other stuff first time.

Get a ride with an instructor if they offer it and also get an instructor to ride with you. Take your first lap slow and focus on your line and where to go. Then start going faster. If you try to go fast first time out and mess up all it does is screw up your next run also.

Good advice guys. Do you think I should buy better pads before I go out? I heard some say a while back they can catch on fire with heavy usage. That I am kind of worried about. Then again my car only makes 125 Hp. I will ask the club if an instructor with ride with me once I become a member.

Only if they are near the end of their life. Just make sure everything is in good shape and go run. They won't catch fire. You won't be going fast enough or run long enough to overwork the brakes. When you start running more you can start to do things, but be careful if you are trying to race in a class since any mods can change which class you are in.

Check. Would suspension mods change the class that I am in or it all has to do with engine mods?

Depends on what group you are running with. If you are running SCCA then even rolling your fenders can change your class....

Short answer is everything can. And suspension mods will make you faster than engine mods will. If you ever want to get serious a good set of coilovers ($2k+) is worth every penny.
