RR filter adapter replacing DE adapter, have a question.
can anyone snap some pictures if they have any of the O rings that go behind this filter bracket assembly, im not sure if the ones nissan sold me are correct. these have a rubber gasket material on them but look like a short top hat, with the top section missing.

The 2 gaskets for the filter housing are just plain old rubber O-rings. What you are describing sounds like the front cover/oil pump gaskets/seals

thats what I thought, Ill have to take them back and have them point them out for me.

according to this site, this is what the RR uses. then you select a 93 SE-R and the parts supersede to the o rings I was mentioning.\

That is exactly what they look like in all the DE and VE engines that I have removed the filter housing, a short top hat, orange, red or reddish brown rubber on the "hat brim". o-rings may work but there is not a proper groove to hold the o-ring in place and it may slip out or move, I have used good old RTV silicone with the old "hats" and it hasn't leaked yet.

I was able to get those installed, and the top hat pieces are correct, the color that came off the original filter adapter was orange and was top hat style, the new were black top hat style, had to slightly notch the power steering pump bracket about 1/2 Inch and pivot the high pressure line for the filter to fit but It worked, I found out that the filter wouldnt fit, after the pump was already reinstalled, but was able to grind out the notch on the vehicle with a brand new cutoff wheel and a 90* grinder. I would recommend notching the bracket before P/S pump is reinstalled though.

Stock bracket

Modified bracket

Pictures showing your notches would make this simpler for anyone else installing this.

Considering this was just an inquiry about the gaskets, and not an install guide I didnt think it was necessary, but I will post them up now. snapped a before and after.

I added them to my initial completion post.

it was on a B13, and yes high port as well. it should work on low ports no problem, since the RR and VE use this adapter.
