Any advice for a B13-to-B15 swap?
Hi everyone!

I have a 94 B13 that I bought a year ago, and had used it for about a month when the headgasket started leaking. Ouch!!

We own a 91 and 92 as well, the 92 is a DD and the 91 is tuned up and modded so it's not our DD anymore so much as our fun weekend/trip car. We've changed the engine on the 91 before without any issues, and know our way around the B13 pretty well. We'd never done a head gasket before and decided we'd rather just change the engine on the 94.

Finally, we were able to start working on the project this summer. We picked up a low-port B15 for a good deal. We've seen a lot 91-94 SE-R's with a low-port intake on the forum, so we figured we'd be able to handle it but quickly found out that there are a ton of differences. We've decided to keep it, buy the ECU and harness to do a complete swap.

I' m wondering if anyone else has done this? Would switching the harness and ECU be a plug-and-play situation, or will it take a lot of rewiring? Do you have any tips / did you run into any problems that we should consider? Thanks in advance!

I can post any photos or additional info, just ask in the comments.

Get a 95-97 lowport intake manifold setup and you will be set.

Ya using the B15 intake manifold/injectors/IACV/TB/maf/ecu and harness is a major pain.

Like daveracer said using a b14 lowport intake manifold/IACV/fuel rail is your best bet. You should be able to reuse the b13 injectors/harness/ecu/TB and maf

The 94 is a low port, unless the motor was swapped.

The swap can be done by using your original B13 harness if you swap the intake manifold from a 94-97 car. That allows your old harness to plug into the equipment on the engine. The injector sub-harness is real tight but should not be a problem.

The low-port B15 engine uses more sensors and different ones in some spots and the ECU is completely different. Acquiring that would be a waste of time and limit options on further changes if desired.

All you need is the 94-97 style intake manifold upper half, bolt that onto the low-port B15 engine and the B13 harness will plug and play.
