Ever wonder what a stock DE can do with Engine Management?
There's obviously a story behind this, but here's what I made on a Mustang dyno with my stock SR20DE running standalone engine management (VEMS). My friend and I think there's probably 5 more HP left on the table, we just didn't want to monopolize the dyno so we called it quits.

That's 150 WHP and 129 WTQ if you missed it.
Hot day in the South; 90°F or higher ambient and 90+% humidity.
Output is SAE corrected.
Car weight was listed as 2500 lbs.
Pull was made in 3rd gear.
Fuel is 93 octane gasoline.

thats rediculous, i know just using an safcII to tune my stock de with a gutted cat, stock airbox, stock manifold, no weight reduction other than no a/c stuff in the bay. i was able to feel the difference just in tuning the fuel. Now you start messing with timing im sure you can pick up a hell of a lot more. I had my timing set to 19* and just messed with the fuel. I went a 15.0@93 with a 2.35 60'. Not bad at all for a stock sentra with added timing and some tuning with the safc. The SR20 is defintely a strong motor.

There's a bit more power to be had by adding more fuel. I'm still on the lean side of things. Timing is about dead on.

I am impressed, no double hump to the torque curve...

Very nice. I am interested that you got the tq to peak out over 5500rpm. Usually DEs make peak tq @4800 and my VE was @5000.

I'm not saying it doesn't have more down low, only that it has even more added tq higher up.

Wow, I was actually gonna ask if anyone has ever done this b4......... Hahaha Thanks guys. So If I connected my safc2 to my stock de, What or how should I set it to improve my gas mileage and not loose any power if possible, with my timing being set to the stock setting.

well looking at the intake manifold, the piping length is tuned for about 5600, so they have tuned it pretty well.
