parts
how bad is the parts support for an s16ve? i think 1600 shipped is a good deal for an engine, trans, ecu and harness with low ass miles, but ive had a couple friends say parts are a bitch to find. does anyone on here own one? and if so, your opinion would be appreciated.

thank you,
pat

Parts are not hard to find. Lots of VE's out there and lots of parts cross over.

wrong section.

but yeah the only things i see bein a problem to find are cranks an rods maybe, other then that most the 2.0 stuff will work. or you could do a head swap, or swap in 2.0 internals.. or whatever.

the ve section silly.

16ve's suck, my friend has one. I been bustin his balls for like 2 yeas about it..

as far as reliability and gas mileage it out performs the sr20de hands down.. but the 1/4 mile times an speeds were identical.

I like the idea of keeping a 1.6... just something i want to do. not looking to be the fastest on the block but atleast keep up

Yeah, but you are going to spend $$$ to get the catch up part. The only reason to go 1.6L, and this is the reason the stupid thing cost so much, is if you plan on racing in a class that requires no more then a 1.6L. Other then that I would slap a SR20VE in for anything else.
