Maximum head can be milled?
Does anybody know off the top what the maximum you can cut a DE head? I've got a blown HG and want to mill the head for more compression and would like to go as far as possible without introducing P-V clearance issues. Of course I could clay it up and find out for myself, but until I get the head off i'd like to hear what the max I can cut it is.

I searched my freakin balls off on this subject and didn't find anything conclusive exxcept one guy showing a pic of the head with a tab on the intake side and saying not to mill that far.

Depends on the pistons, cams, valves, how much has already been shaved on head and block....

Stock Low port engine with highport intake cam. No previous cutting done on head or block.

What are your intentions for milling the head?

I agree with pistons to raise compression. You won't have to worry about cam timing that way. I have NO idea how much can be milled. =(

yea dude, plus you can actually calculate and choose your compression, and you will have room for a bigger cam if/when you decide to run one. also a stronger piston with higher compression seems smart.
